    9/18 Budget Listen and Learn Minutes:

    Question 1: Based on the audience's perceptions, what are the research-based must haves (needs) that will enable the district to progress forward and ultimately exit recovety monitoring? 

    • How to spread students out within the district (6th, 7th, 8th graders), separating them from the K-5 grades
    • Replacing the Naviance system and implementing smarter measures (an electronic system) for our students to monitor their progress and provide evidence needed for them to graduate
    • Implementing a program for 12th graders who are 18 years old where they can get their diploma and a CDL license 
    • Concern about not enough being done for Special Education students
    • Cool down area for students

    Question 2: Based on the audience's perceptions, what are the district wishes (wants) that will help the district to progress forward and ultimately exit recovery monitoring?

    • Human Resources (an instructional aide for a half day) to help create change in the classroom
    • Swimming pool
    • Attendance Officer/School Counselor for every building
    • (Middle level) leadership class
    • Classes that provide functional skills for students (how to pay bills, take care of the home, etc.)
    • Our own transportation fleet (buses, vans)
    • Implement senior career program for education to grow our own
    • Support our teachers by letting seniors come in and operate as a teacher's aide
    • Beautification for grounds and buildings
    • Student technology department
